  • Co-Ed Venturing Crew 52

     

    Co Ed Venturing Crew 52If you are looking for outdoor action and adventure Venturing Crew 52 is for you! Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 14 years of age OR 13 years of age and have completed the eighth grade and under 21 years of age. Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults, with an emphasis in adventure, leadership, personal growth, and service. 

     

    Adventure: The crew select and plan monthly weekend long adventures involving outdoor activities.  Since its founding the Crew has been camping, backpacking, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, rock climbing, canoeing, biking and more.  Each summer the Crew has a weeklong “super activity” and the first year our trip included a visit to Montréal Canada. 

     

    Leadership: Crew 52 is led by youth officers elected by their peers for a one-year term. Youth members plan, organize and lead all meetings, activities and adventures.  Leadership training and mentoring is provided.

    Personal Growth:  Crew members have an opportunity to gain hands on leadership, lead projects, set personal goals and mentor others. The crew has a variety of Awards available for members to pursue including sports and physical fitness, outdoor skills, and faith exploration.

    Service: The Crew regularly participates in projects benefiting the local community and national organizations.

    The crew meets at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in the Rectory Lounge from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday’s of each month from September through May.  To learn more about Crew 52, please join us at any crew meeting. Contact us below for questions.

  • Junior Youth Ministry

    Catholic Youth MinistryThe Junior Youth Ministry is an opportunity for boys and girls in the fifth through eighth grades to gather. Our gatherings are both social and informative.  Our Junior Youth attend the 5:00 p.m. Mass on the Second Sunday of each month from September to May and meet from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Check Church Bulletin for meeting location.

    Come and visit with us anytime and see how we get involved.  We would like to see you.  Even if you haven’t signed up, just drop by!

  • OLMC Teen Youth Ministry

    Youth Activities PicOLMC Teen Youth Ministry is for any student in grades 9 – 12.  Our mission is to provide fellowship among teens in a non-judgmental environment, where we put our faith into action.  

    We typically meet on the 2nd & 4th Sunday of each month (Sept. – May).   We attend the 5:00 PM Youth Mass, followed by a gathering.  Our events are typically Spiritual, Service, Informative and/or Social in nature. Check Church Bulletin for meeting location.

    Spiritual:  Our teens gather and sit together as a group at the 5:00 PM Youth Mass.  They participate as Extraordinary Ministers, Lectors, Ushers, Gift Bearers and Music Ministry.


    Service:  We hold various service projects throughout the year which have included:  Hands Helping Haiti, Christmas Baking for the OLMC Prison Ministry, Halloween Costume Drive for the Bucks County Housing Group Shelter, collection for DePaul House Men’s Shelter and preparation of Holiday Food Baskets for the needy.

    Informative:  We have various guest speakers to discuss topical issues that relate to teens.  Subjects have included:  Texting While Driving, Teen’s & Alcohol and the Impact of High School Bullying.

    Social:  Our ministry hosts various social events which have included: a Halloween Murder Mystery, a Clergy Appreciation Dinner and Game Night with Siblings.

  • CYO ~ Catholic Youth Organization

    We hold before us, the tradition of excellence established by those who led and participated in OLMC CYO.   We welcome all parish children into our program.  No child will be turned away. We proudly represent our entire parish family in every endeavor we undertake.

    The spirit of athletic competition shines brightly within us.  We strive to be the best among our competitors, and in the end, whether we are blessed with victory, or fall short in defeat; our actions towards our opponents are always the same – a hand extended with humility and dignity.  We offer volleyball, football, basketball, lacrosse and track/cross country teams.  We also offer cheerleading for our football and basketball games.

  • Cub Scouts

    cubscoutsCub Scouts is a home and community-centered program designed to support family life for boys in first through fifth grades. Each Cub Scout learns to respect his home, country, God and other people. Boys in Cub Scouting have fun hiking, camping and exploring their world around them.

     The program also helps boys to:

    learn new physical skills through sports, crafts and games,

    • learn how to get along with others through group activities
    • enhance mental skills such as writing and calculating
    • develop person independence

  • Girl Scouts

    girlscoutsOur Lady of Mount Carmel Girl Scouts is committed to building Courage, Character, and Confidence in girls ages 6 and up so they can go out and make the world a better place. We are part of the Girl Scouts of Eastern PA.  We offer many wonderful programs and service opportunities for the OLMC scouts.  We also participate in the larger scouting activities offered by the Jericho Service Unit of Girl Scouts in the Bucks County area.  We currently have troops for all grade levels.  There are many great activities and accomplishments ahead for any girl wishing to participate in scouts!
