Liturgy Committee The Constitution of the Sacred Liturgy says the Liturgy is the “source and summit” of our lives as Christians. It is in the liturgy that we are most ourselves as God’s people. The Liturgy Committee seeks to support the liturgical life of the Parish.

Funeral Liturgy For Christians, life does not end; it changes. Still, the death of loved ones tests our faith as nothing else can. A Bereavement team member is available to assist a family as they plan a funeral liturgy. For more information, please check the Ministry list for the name of the Bereavement Office contact person.

Marriage Liturgy One of the most important decisions a couple will make for their wedding day, is the Wedding Liturgy. When a couple meets with the priest, you will be provided materials to help you prepare your liturgy. Choices of readings, music, etc. are outlined. The music ministry provides materials to help you select the Processionals, Recessionals and hymns. Contacts for musicians and cantors must be made directly. All contact information is provided.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word OLMC offers an opportunity for pre-K through middle school students to learn the Gospel lessons at their level during the Sunday, 9:00 AM Mass. This ministry includes both adult and teen volunteers who share the Gospel with children away from the formal environment of the church. There is more space for both movement and discussion, age level readings from the bible, and guided activities for learning.

Before the Readings, the children are escorted from the church to have their experience of God’s Word. Our hope is that this experiential learning leads them to greater understanding of their faith.

Guidebooks are provided for the “Shepherd” volunteers who lead the Children’s Liturgy of the Word. The “Sheep” rejoin their families in the church after the conclusion of their special Liturgy of the Word.
