Mothers of Young Children
Mothers of Young Children (MYC) is committed to providing youngsters (infants to kindergarten age) with a safe and loving environment in which to play, while affording their parents and caregivers an opportunity to socialize with other adults.
Throughout the year, MYC schedules monthly play dates. Although the themes of the play dates vary from month to month, the gatherings generally consist of craft activities, story time, and play time. In addition to the monthly play dates, MYC hosts annual events for the entire family such as our Halloween costume party, Breakfast with Santa and the Easter Egg Hunt. Families have also been invited to join MYC on day trips to such locations as Sesame Place and the Crayola Factory.
Mothers of Young Children maintains a strong commitment to the community. During the course of the year, MYC will organize various outreach projects to help those within our community who are in need. Some of the events that MYC has planned in recent years include: collecting school supplies for Mother Katherine Drexel’s Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament; assembling Thanksgiving baskets for needy families; visiting the elderly in local nursing homes; and, gathering baby items for teenage mothers.

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish Community Ministry (PCM)
“For each individual the family is the cradle of life and love where they are born and grow. The climate of affection that unites the family is also where we learn about truth and goodness. Moreover, the family unit is a community of persons where moral values are taught and the spirtitual and cultural heritage of society are passed on. The family is also essential in ensuring people are strong in ther commitments, and promote both social respobsibility and solidarity.” (source: Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church)

Members are committed to the friendship among the women of the OLMC family, while developing a deeper relationship with the Lord and His Blessed Mother. Among the many events established by the “Ladies” are: Trips & Retreats, Wreath Sale, Open House, Pot Luck Supper, Annual Christmas Luncheon, our Annual Communion Breakfast, held the first Sunday in May and our largest fund raiser, the Rummage Sale held each year in the month of June.
We gather the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 P.M. (Except December) in St. Mary’s Hall from September through June.
